Dan Panaggio is the Co-Founder of DME Academy and head of all basketball operations. He has coached three NBA teams as well as a trio of the most prestigious NCAA Division I programs including Oklahoma, Indiana, and Marquette. A student of the game, Dan was a standout player for a State University of New York at Brockport team to an NCAA Final Four berth as a sophomore. He is a member of their Hall of Fame and is still the leading scorer in school history.

Panaggio went on to a successful coaching career as well at all levels. He served as head coach of the Quad City Thunder for nine seasons, and owns a career record of 313-191, winning Continental Basketball Association championships in 1994 and 1998. Dan was an assistant coach to Maurice Cheeks with the Portland Trailblazers from 2001 to 2005. Considered one of the top experts in the NBA game when it comes to the triangle offense made popular by Phil Jackson.

He was brought on as an assistant in the Laker organization for four years and has two NBA Championship rings to show for his efforts there. Dan was named the Chinese NBA coach of the year in 2012 as head coach of Yao Ming’s Shanghai Sharks. After four years, he went on as a special assistant with the Phoenix Sun’s organization. Dan understands the game and has assembled a coaching staff that believes in DME Academy. A leader of boys & girls, Dan sets the tone for a DME Academy program that is already considered elite, but still growing!

Michael Panaggio is a Daytona Beach native whose basketball career has taken him all around the world. He excelled at Lander University, where he was named to the All-Conference Peach Belt team after holding top ten rankings in scoring, assists, minutes played, assists-turnover ratio, free throw percentage, and three-point percentage. After graduating from college, Michael began his professional basketball career which has brought him to Italy, Latvia, Spain, and Argentina. In addition to playing pro ball, Michael has spent the last few years bolstering his coaching resume. He developed the DME Academy travel programs, was named the SIAA Coach of the Year in back-to-back seasons, placed over 15 student-athletes to the Division I level, and even spent time coaching the Division I FIU Golden Panthers.

Matt was born and raised locally and started his basketball career at Father Lopez High School. After High School, Matt decided to do a post-graduate year at Worcester Academy to develop his game in order to play college basketball. He began his collegiate career at Mercer University where he was a member of the 2014 ASUN Championship team that later went on to beat Duke University in the second round of the NCAA tournament.

After two seasons with the Bears, he transferred to Henderson State University where he finished his basketball career and graduated with a Business Degree. Matt was a two-year captain and leader for the Reddies. Matt is an integral part of our coaching staff. Matt is the head coach of the DME National team.

Matt is the grandson of legendary head coach Mauro Panaggio and nephew of former NBA and collegiate coach Dan Panaggio.

Greg Bearer comes to DME Academy by way of Hollidaysburg Pennsylvania. Bearer attained his high school education at The Kiski School.  It was here that Bearer developed a passion for both education and basketball.  Bearer always knew that he wanted to be an educator.  Upon graduating from The Kiski School, he advanced to Indiana University of Pennsylvania.   Here, Bearer pursued his Bachelor’s in Education with an emphasis in Middle School Education.  In pursuit of his degree, Bearer also competed for the IUP’s basketball program.

After graduation, Bearer landed at DME Academy, and his coaching career commenced. Bearer has been on staff with DME Academy since fall of 2020.

Bearer’s personal experience as a boarding school student has served as a guide to assist the students at DME Academy as they navigate the student-athlete process.  Bearer holds a strong interest in player development which has prompted him to connect with DME Academy players of all ages, positively impacting student-athletes from middle school through post grad levels.

Pete Munch

Pete Munch is Florida native, calling Melbourne Beach his hometown.  Munch joined the DME Academy coaching staff in 2020 following stints at IMG Academy and Florida Prep Academy previously.

During his coaching career he has coached 24 NCAA DI athletes, 1 McDonald’s All-American (Moussa Diabate), a 2nd Round NBA Draft Selection (Kenyon Martin Jr., and has aided more than 60 student-athletes advance to the next level.

Jason Janda is back for year two at DME Academy. During his first year as an intern, Jason provided back up to several of our DME Academy teams. Due to his passion for excellence, our Executive staff took notice of his abilities and offered him a head coaching position. Jason attended and graduated from Division 1 Akron University in Ohio. Jason had a great High School career at Chardon High School in Ohio where he was a 3-year letterman.

Janda is a young aspiring coach with previous experience with IHI Basketball and a year overseas at 5 Star Sports Academy in China. DME Academy presents Janda with the opportunity to expand on his coaching skills and development as he advances his career.

Jason's love for the game caught fire at Akron. He decided at that time to pursue college coaching as a career. DME Academy student-athletes and staff are very glad that he made that choice.

Alex Richard, MS, CSCS Director of Sports Performance.

Alex is in his first year as the Director of Sports Performance at DME Academy. Alex joins DME after a five year stint at Southern Miss where he was the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach for men’s basketball and women’s soccer. Richard also worked with women’s basketball, men’s tennis, women’s volleyball, and football while at Southern Miss.

Alex graduated with his Master’s degree in exercise science from Southern Miss in 2018. He graduated with his bachelor’s degree in Health Promotion & Wellness from Wisconsin Steven’s Point in 2016. While at UWSP, Alex was a four-year member of the men’s basketball team. Richard was a captain and leading scorer of the 2015 NCAA Division III National Championship team.

Alex is a certified strength & conditioning specialist from the NSCA.

Dr. Anna Gonzalez brings more than 17 years of experience as an educator to Xceed DME Academy. Anna has a PhD in Economics and Business from her native country, Italy. She has experience at the middle school, high school, and college levels, as well as an exceptional understanding of how to blend the online and traditional school settings into our dynamic hybrid model.

Dawn has coached varsity volleyball for 22 years. She was the founder of the Olmsted Falls Volleyball Association in Cuyahoga County, Ohio. She has served as a youth coach for basketball, softball and volleyball, and we are proud to have her as our current Volleyball Director.

Eric is a retired professional ice hockey player with a lengthy and storied career that has taken him around the world. He's played in the most prestigious leagues in hockey including the NHL, AHL, KHL, NLA (Swiss Elite League) and Liiga (Finnish Elite League). He was a member of a Stanley Cup Champion (Tampa Bay Lightning), Liiga Champion and European Cup Champion team. He has served as a team ambassador participating in community events including public appearances, fundraising and volunteering. As a player, Eric approaches the game of hockey with a quest for learning and desire to continually improve. As a leader both on the ice and in the locker room, he is known for his positive attitude and professionalism. Moving forward from his playing days, Eric's passion and love for the game fuels his desire to stay in the hockey world, and we are proud to have him as our Director of Hockey here at DME.

Mike Panaggio is Chief Executive Officer of DME, a national trendsetter in direct marketing. Panaggio’s exceptional vision and creativity has propelled DME in a constant direction of growth and profitability in the one-to-one marketing field. DME has been helping its customers achieve sustainable profitable revenue growth since 1984.

Mike prepped at prestigious Deerfield Academy then played 4 years of basketball for his father at SUNY Brockport where he graduated with a degree in Economics and the all time record for points scored in a career. He continued to score points in business as he quickly rose through the ranks as a commodity and securities broker with Merrill Lynch and Prudential Bache in Rochester, New York.

Realizing that making money in finance was easy, but did not satisfy his urge to innovate, Mike went on to found DME in 1984. In 2016 Mike and his brother Dan created DME Academy and the rest is history. Today the school is winning in the classroom and in building character. The athletic programs are beginning to show up on the national stage as well.

Laura Stegall came onboard as DME Academy’s Athletic Director in 2021 transitioning from a career in coaching collegiate volleyball. Stegall will draw on her coaching and teaching experiences to provide leadership, direction, and mentoring to the DME Academy staff and students. Prior to joining DME Academy, Stegall was responsible for launching a nationally ranked volleyball program. Under her tenure at Daytona State College, Stegall’s Falcons enjoyed seven consecutive winning seasons.

Under her leadership during her seven years with the Falcons, Stegall’s teams were ranked nationally six seasons, with a program’s record high ranking of 6th in the nation in 2014. The success of the program led to Stegall being named the 2019 AVCA Southeast Region 2 Year College Coach of the Year. Academics have always been an essential focus of every program Stegall has led. Her Indiana Tech and Daytona State programs averaged a 3.5+ GPA annually and boasted a near perfect graduation rate. Stegall looks to implement this same academic approach in her role as Athletic Director at DME Academy.

Stegall was a two-sport collegiate athlete at Indiana University-Purdue University, Fort Wayne (PFW), where she competed in both basketball and volleyball. Stegall was a standout in volleyball, leading the Mastodons in kills and digs for three consecutive seasons. She recorded 36 kills against Lewis in 2000, which still stands as the IPFW single-match record. During her career at IPFW, she also broke records for career digs (1,625), single-season digs (505), and career kills (1,895). She finished her career as a three-time All-Conference and All-Region selection, and was named the 2000 Great Lakes Valley Player of the Year and IPFW Female Athlete of the Year.

Additionally, Stegall had the privilege of being a participant in the USA National Team Tryouts in 1997. Stegall's accolades as a Mastodon culminated in 2006 with her induction into the PFW Hall of Fame. Stegall moved to Daytona Beach in 2007 when her husband, Randy Stegall, accepted the position as Head Baseball Coach at Embry-Riddle. The Stegall family resides in Port Orange, Fl, with their three children Sarah, Ashtyn, and Brady.

Kelley (MS, LAT, ATC) graduated from Florida Southern College with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training & minor in Exercise Science. Smith earned 1200+ clinical hours working with high school football, NCAA DII Women’s Basketball, and NCAA DII Women’s Lacrosse programs while at FSC. She then spent time working with the Colorado State University Football program.

Keeley also received her Master of Science in Exercise Science with a concentration in Health and Wellness from EKU. While there, she worked at The Lexington Clinic Orthopedics- Sports Medicine as a graduate assistant.

Smith currently holds Athletic Trainer Licensure in Florida and Kentucky and is certified through the Board of Certification in Athletic Training.

DME Academy welcomes one of the NBA’s best all time 3-point shooters Coach Wes Person. Wes will coach the DME Regional Team and also do double duty as DME’s head shooting coach. Wes has proven to be one of the hardest working coaches at DME Academy. He knows the game and played at the highest level. 

Person, who was a four-year starter at Auburn from 1990-94, he is the Tigers all-time leader in 3-pointers made (262) and 3-point field goal percentage (.441, 262-of-594). The Brantley, Ala., native was named an honorable mention All-American by the Associated Press and U.S. Basketball Writers Association as a senior in 1994 after leading the SEC averaging 22.2 points per game.

All-American Wesley Person was named as one of college basketball’s all-time top 10 shooters by Rivals.com 

Wes was a three-time All-SEC selection, earning first-team honors in 1993 and 1994 and third-team honors in 1992. Person, who had his No. 11 Auburn jersey retired on Feb. 18, 2006, is still third on Auburn's all-time scoring chart with 2,066 points and is fourth in all-time scoring average (19.1) and field goals made (772).

The Tigers trailed by 15 points with 7:57 left and following Person's game-winner, Auburn fans stormed the court for the first time in school history.

An NBA first round pick by the Phoenix Suns in 1994, Person played 13 NBA seasons with the Suns, Cleveland Cavaliers, Memphis Grizzlies, Portland Trail Blazers, Atlanta Hawks, Miami Heat and Denver Nuggets. He won the Baby Ruth 3-Point Shooting Contest by defeating his brother, Chuck, at the 1995 NBA All-Star Game.

DME Academy welcomes one of the NBA’s best all time 3-point shooters Coach Wes Person. Wes will coach the DME Regional Team and also do double duty as DME’s head shooting coach. Wes has proven to be one of the hardest working coaches at DME Academy. He knows the game and played at the highest level.  Person, who was a four-year starter at Auburn from 1990-94, he is the Tigers all-time leader in 3-pointers made (262) and 3-point field goal percentage (.441, 262-of-594). The Brantley, Ala., native was named an honorable mention All-American by the Associated Press and U.S. Basketball Writers Association as a senior in 1994 after leading the SEC averaging 22.2 points per game. All-American Wesley Person was named as one of college basketball’s all-time top 10 shooters by Rivals.com  Wes was a three-time All-SEC selection, earning first-team honors in 1993 and 1994 and third-team honors in 1992. Person, who had his No. 11 Auburn jersey retired on Feb. 18, 2006, is still third on Auburn's all-time scoring chart with 2,066 points and is fourth in all-time scoring average (19.1) and field goals made (772). Hocine is a former 14 year FIBA International professional basketball player who brings an aggressive Intercontinental approach to the DME Academy coaching staff. Gaham was born in Algeria in 1986 and has basketball and coaching in his blood. His greatest desire is to aid players in the transition from their home country to the United States which can be very challenging for young players at times. His unique approach along with basketball knowledge and work ethic is the one of the main reasons we've brought him on board at DME.

Ryder Mansfield

The son of Robert and Mistye Stack, Ryder is a native of Concord, North Carolina, and attended Charlotte United Christian Academy there, where he was selected for the All-Conference team during his junior season. He was named Most Improved Player in his senior season, and scored 19 points and grabbed 20 rebounds in the final game of his senior year.

After graduation, Ryder chose to attend Ohio Dominican University in Columbus, Ohio. In his junior year, he transferred to Division 3 Keuka College in Upstate New York. In just two seasons Ryder averaged 13.7 points and grabbed 10.2 rebounds. Ryder ranks 7th All-Time in Keuka College History in FG% at 55% from the floor. In his senior year he was voted to 3rd Team All Conference as well as being voted to the D3Hoops.com Team of the week after a career high performance of 30 points and 16 Rebounds against Hilbert College.

Upon graduating college and having a brief stint of playing professional basketball overseas, Ryder returned to Keuka College to be the assistant coach for the Men's basketball team under Jake Scott for the last two seasons. Ryder now applies his experience helping coach multiple boy's teams here at DME Academy. His youth and energy is reassuring to our younger players who appreciate his leadership.

Tia is a native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and has spent most of her life in North Carolina. She attended Ronald W. Reagan High School, where she was an All-Conference honoree for both the 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 seasons. Tia was also recognized as a member of the All-Tournament Team for the Mary Garber Tournament. She's played travel ball for Lady Team Charlotte, coached by Royals alumnae, Ashley Raley-Ross. Tia continued her playing career collegiately at Queens University of Charlotte, where she was a team captain as a junior and senior and a member of Queens' SAAC leadership team for three years.

A native of Macon, Georgia, Kioki has played soccer collegiately and professionally at numerous levels. In high school, he was named the Middle Georgia soccer player of the year after scoring 31 goals with 13 assists in 18 games. He started his college playing career at Perimeter College at Georgia State University, and then transferred to Lander University for his junior and senior seasons. Kioki spent his summers competing in the NPSL and USL2 semi-professional leagues. He captured 2 conference titles with the Myrtle Beach Mutiny. After college, Kioki continued his playing career in Europe, playing for Pickering Town FC in England and Benidorm CF in Spain.

Since then, Kioki has been coaching at the youth club level and training players individually.
