HEAD COACH
Jason Janda

Jason Janda is back for year two at DME Academy. During his first year as an intern Jason provided back up to several of our DME Academy teams. Due to his passion for excellence our Executive staff took notice of his abilities and offered him a head coaching position.  Jason attended and graduated from Division 1 Akron University in Ohio.  Jason had a great High School career at Chardon High School in Ohio where he was a 3-year letterman.

Janda is a young aspiring coach with previous experience with IHI Basketball and a year overseas at 5 Star Sports Academy in China.  DME Academy presents Janda the opportunity to expand on his coaching skills and development as he advances his career.

Jason's love for the game caught fire at Akron. He decided at that time to pursue college coaching as a career. DME Academy student athletes and staff are very glad that he made that choice

Laura Stegall
Athletic Director
Laura Stegall
Laura Stegall came onboard as DME Academy’s Athletic Director in 2021 transitioning from a career in coaching collegiate volleyball. Stegall will draw on her coaching and teaching experiences to provide leadership, direction, and mentoring to the DME Academy staff and students. Prior to joining DME Academy, Stegall was responsible for launching a nationally ranked volleyball program. Under her tenure at Daytona State College, Stegall’s Falcons enjoyed seven consecutive winning seasons. Under her leadership during her seven years with the Falcons, Stegall’s teams were ranked nationally six seasons, with a program’s record high ranking of 6th in the nation in 2014. The success of the program led to Stegall being named the 2019 AVCA Southeast Region 2 Year College Coach of the Year. Academics have always been an essential focus of every program Stegall has led. Her Indiana Tech and Daytona State programs averaged a 3.5+ GPA annually and boasted a near perfect graduation rate. Stegall looks to implement this same academic approach in her role as Athletic Director at DME Academy. Stegall was a two-sport collegiate athlete at Indiana University-Purdue University, Fort Wayne (PFW), where she competed in both basketball and volleyball. Stegall was a standout in volleyball, leading the Mastodons in kills and digs for three consecutive seasons. She recorded 36 kills against Lewis in 2000, which still stands as the IPFW single-match record. During her career at IPFW, she also broke records for career digs (1,625), single-season digs (505), and career kills (1,895). She finished her career as a three-time All-Conference and All-Region selection, and was named the 2000 Great Lakes Valley Player of the Year and IPFW Female Athlete of the Year. Additionally, Stegall had the privilege of being a participant in the USA National Team Tryouts in 1997. Stegall's accolades as a Mastodon culminated in 2006 with her induction into the PFW Hall of Fame. Stegall moved to Daytona Beach in 2007 when her husband, Randy Stegall, accepted the position as Head Baseball Coach at Embry-Riddle. The Stegall family resides in Port Orange, Fl, with their three children Sarah, Ashtyn, and Brady.
